Official Guide / APP STORE AUTHENTICITY CHECK
Download the genuine Shadowrocket app
Available only on the App StoreDownload on the App StoreShadowrocket is a paid client available only on the App Store, sold as a one-time purchase. Check your account’s storefront, then verify the developer, official icon and app ID. After purchasing, import your own existing subscription or server details.
Prices, system requirements and compatibility are as shown on the App Store listing. Also available from the same storefront for Mac and Apple TV.
App Store storefront and Apple Account region
Which apps appear in the App Store depends on the country or region of the Apple Account used for purchases. Shadowrocket isn’t available in the mainland China storefront, so searching for its full name there may not show the listing. Changing your device language, switching keyboards or searching for “Shadowrocket” in another way won’t change this. Check the account’s storefront first to see whether the app is available.
The button on this page opens Shadowrocket’s App Store product page. The storefront path in the link won’t change your account region; the store may still show an availability message based on your account. Read the message carefully. Being able to open the webpage doesn’t necessarily mean your account can purchase the app.
Check the account used for purchases
- Open Settings on your device, then tap your Apple Account at the top.
- Tap Media & Purchases, then View Account. Authenticate if prompted.
- Check Country/Region to see which storefront is linked to the account used for App Store purchases.
- To change the region, use the same Country/Region setting and follow the prompts. Review the account requirements first.
The full path is: Settings → Apple Account → Media & Purchases → View Account → Country/Region. Labels may vary slightly by system version; follow the prompts on your device. The account used for Media & Purchases may differ from the one shown at the top of Settings, so check the account under purchases rather than relying on the profile shown there.
Changing regions can depend on your account balance, active subscriptions, Family Sharing status and payment method. Check these first. Apple’s account process determines whether the change can be completed; this guide can’t guarantee an outcome. Don’t keep changing settings just to search for an app, and don’t pay again before checking your original purchase history.
If you’re looking for a Shadowrocket purchase you made earlier, check the original account’s purchase history first. Search results show what’s currently available in the storefront; purchase history shows the account’s past transactions. They aren’t the same. See the purchase restoration guide on this page for the steps.
Developer, app icon and app ID
Use the app name to find it and these three details to verify it. Official screenshots help identify the interface, but don’t verify the app’s identity.
Official App Store app icon
Check the full developer name
Expand the app information on the product page and confirm the developer is Shadow Launch Technology Limited. Don’t rely on the name containing Shadowrocket, search ranking, keywords in the description or similar-looking colors. Match the developer name exactly, including its full spelling.
Compare the official app icon
The official icon shows a blue-purple outlined rocket on a white background, matching the icon shown here. Check it alongside the developer information. A similar outline, color or name alone isn’t enough to verify the app. If search results show several similar listings, open the product details and check each item.
Finally, check the app ID
The app ID is 932747118, and the product page URL ends with id932747118. Check the product identifier in the URL, not a search term or text in the app description. Once the developer, official icon and app ID all match, review the current price and compatibility before purchasing.
The two images on the right are official interface screenshots uploaded by the developer to the App Store. Home shows the connection controls, Global Routing and server list; Add Server shows the form for a single server. English labels, field order and the interface on your device may change. Verify the app using the three App Store details.
An empty server list after installation doesn’t mean your purchase failed. Buying the app gives you access to the client; you’ll need to use your own existing subscription or server details to connect. Don’t copy information from a screenshot just to make your screen look the same.
Install and open Shadowrocket on iPhone
After verifying the app on your iPhone, tap the price button on its App Store product page and follow the prompts to confirm payment. Purchase confirmation and download are separate steps: wait for the store to process the transaction, then wait for the app to appear on your device. If payment is complete but the app hasn’t appeared, check the download status and purchase history before trying to buy again.
Check the App Store listing for system requirements. Before buying, review Compatibility and your device’s current system version. If your device doesn’t meet the requirements, follow the store’s guidance; an app being available on another device doesn’t mean it will work on yours. Also check available storage so the download doesn’t get stuck waiting.
Authorize VPN configuration on first connection
After opening Shadowrocket, take a look at the Home screen, then import your own existing subscription or server details. The first time you turn on the connection switch, iOS may ask to add a VPN configuration and confirm with your device passcode or biometric authentication. This allows the app to establish the relevant network connection; it doesn’t purchase a connection service or create a working server automatically.
Before authorizing, make sure the prompt was triggered by Shadowrocket, which you just opened. If you cancel for now, check your details first, then turn on the connection switch later and follow the authorization prompts. You can usually find the related record under Settings → General → VPN & Device Management. If your device is managed, check whether its management policy restricts these settings.
Once the app is installed, check your imported details, then choose how Global Routing should work. Config applies configuration-based routing, Proxy uses the proxy mode, and Direct connects directly. There’s no need to change every setting right after purchase. Follow the first-use guide to import your details, connect and verify the setup step by step.
iPad and other Apple devices
Your iPhone and iPad can share the purchase made with the same Apple Account. After one purchase, you can redownload Shadowrocket from the App Store purchase history on another compatible device. Before you start, make sure the iPad is signed in to the original account under Media & Purchases—not just that an account is signed in to the device. Check the App Store listing for system requirements.
The iPad’s larger screen means lists and details may be arranged differently from iPhone, especially in landscape or different window sizes. Find features by screen name, such as Home, Config and Settings, rather than matching each item to its position in a phone screenshot. App Store purchase history and server details on your device are separate; after installation, check your subscription, server entries and current configuration on the iPad.
If you plan to use the same existing details on two devices, check your service’s device limits, connection restrictions and terms. Restoring the app purchase doesn’t increase the device allowance for a connection service. After importing, check the selected entry and connection status on each device so you don’t mistake the other device’s status for your own.
Mac / Apple TV / Apple Vision
The compatibility section of the same App Store listing includes Mac, Apple TV and Apple Vision. These devices are also available only through the App Store. Check the listing for device compatibility, universal purchase availability and system requirements. This guide focuses on iPhone and iPad; for other devices, read the relevant App Store listing before checking purchase and usage requirements.
Restore purchases after replacing or resetting a device
When reinstalling, check your purchase history first, then handle the app’s data. Sign in with the Apple Account used for the original purchase, find Shadowrocket in App Store purchases and download it again at no extra charge. Restoring the purchase restores access to the app; it doesn’t necessarily restore every server entry from your old device.
- On your new device, check that the account under Media & Purchases matches the one used for the original purchase.
- Open the App Store, go to your account page and tap Purchased. Depending on your system version, this may appear as Apps or a similar label.
- Find Shadowrocket in your account’s purchase list, tap to download it again and wait for installation to finish.
- Open the app and check whether your subscription, server details and configuration are there. Import them again if needed.
- Authorize the first connection when prompted by your device, then check the selected entry and Global Routing settings.
If you see a price, check your purchase history first
If the store shows a price instead of a redownload option, check the account, purchase history and any hidden purchases first. Don’t assume the current account owns the app just because it was installed on an old device. If the account’s region has changed, the listing and availability may also differ. Check the current storefront message and original transaction record.
If your old device still works, note the configuration names, server details and subscription management method you actually need before switching devices. Keep sensitive information such as passwords and subscription URLs safe; don’t include it in public screenshots or support requests. After importing the details again, check that they’re valid before deciding whether a connection issue is related to device authorization.
Family Sharing eligibility
To see whether Family Sharing applies to this purchase, check the App Store product page and your Apple Family settings. Purchase-sharing status, account requirements and storefront region can all affect what family members see. Don’t assume that your purchase-restoration steps are guaranteed to work for everyone in your family. Sharing an app purchase doesn’t share connection service credentials or usage limits.
One-time client purchase ≠ connection service plan
The US reference price for Shadowrocket is $2.99. This is a one-time purchase of the client, with no monthly client fee. Prices are shown in local currency in each storefront; the amount charged is the one displayed on the App Store confirmation screen.
After purchasing the app, you’ll still need to provide your own subscription or server details to connect. This is the official Shadowrocket website and guide. It doesn’t provide, sell or recommend proxy servers or subscriptions; this page covers purchasing, installation and restoring the app.
The app purchase and connection service are separate
Your App Store transaction history confirms the app purchase. The validity period, data allowance and device limits for an existing connection service depend on that service’s terms. If a connection fails, check whether the app is installed properly, your details are valid and system authorization is complete. Don’t assume every issue means the purchase failed.
If an existing subscription needs periodic updating, that updates its server details; it’s separate from updating the app through the App Store. App updates are handled in the App Store, either through your device’s automatic update settings or from your store account page. Check the product page and in-app notes for the latest update details.
Before buying, take three steps: make sure you can access the relevant storefront, verify the three app details and confirm you already have connection details to use. Keep your purchase record, and restore the app from your purchase history if you change devices. Handling app access, importing details and testing the connection separately helps avoid repeating steps in the wrong place.
Download and purchase FAQ
Why can’t I find Shadowrocket in the App Store?
First check the country or region of the Apple Account used for Media & Purchases. Shadowrocket isn’t available in the mainland China storefront, and search results depend on the account’s storefront. Your device language and physical location don’t change the account region. Open the product link on this page to check the storefront message. Whether you can change regions depends on your account.
What if the product page opens but the download won’t finish?
Check the product page’s compatibility requirements, available storage and network connection, then review any payment or terms prompts on your App Store account. Follow the specific message shown by the store. If the download still won’t complete, try again later or use Apple Support on your device for account issues.
Do I have to pay again when I replace my device or reinstall Shadowrocket?
Use the Apple Account you originally purchased with. Find Shadowrocket in your App Store account and purchase history, then download it again at no extra charge. If a price appears, check the Media & Purchases account and original purchase history before buying again. After restoring the app, check your own subscription, server details and configuration.
Can I install it on iPad after buying it?
Yes. Your iPhone and iPad can use the same Apple Account purchase, and you can redownload Shadowrocket from your purchases if the device meets the compatibility requirements. Check the App Store listing for system requirements. The iPad landscape layout may differ from the iPhone version, and you’ll need to check your subscription and configuration on each device.
Does Shadowrocket work on Mac, Apple TV and Apple Vision?
The compatibility section of the same App Store listing includes Mac, Apple TV and Apple Vision. Check the listing for device compatibility, system requirements and whether the purchase is universal. These devices are also available only through the App Store.
How do I follow the instructions when the official screenshots are in English?
