App Store Guide

Store availability, authenticity checks, purchase, and restore

This page is a reference guide to getting Shadowrocket, explaining how your account, storefront, and purchase history relate. After installing the app, if you need to import a subscription you already have, continue with the Getting Started tutorial. If you only need to verify the product page and make a purchase, go directly to the App Store page for the genuine app. The pages cover different tasks: this guide explains eligibility and exceptional cases; the tutorial walks through Home, Config, and your first connection.

Store availability and app visibility

Distinguish your device region from your store region

The apps shown in the App Store, the currency used, and whether you can complete a purchase depend mainly on the Apple Account currently used for Media & Purchases and its country or region. Your device’s language, date format, and physical location are separate settings. Changing your iPhone’s interface to English does not change your store account’s region. Seeing an English product description in a browser does not prove that your device is using that storefront. To check whether the app is available, open the App Store on your device and review the account region and the product page’s current messages.

A product page link may show information in a browser, but being able to view it does not mean your current account is eligible to buy the app. The web link, the App Store page opened on your device, and the final payment confirmation are related but distinct steps. If the page redirects or shows an unavailable message, note which step failed rather than treating every issue as a search problem. In particular, if a browser shows US dollars but your device’s App Store shows another currency, use the storefront shown at checkout on your device. The region in a URL alone does not identify your account’s storefront.

Visibility, purchase eligibility, and installation are three separate checks

Finding the app in search means the result is being shown in your current environment. Opening its product page means the store can retrieve its details. Installation also depends on your account, purchase status, device compatibility, and download conditions. These checks are not interchangeable. For example, if search returns no results, opening the known product page can bypass a keyword-matching issue. But if the product page explicitly says the app is unavailable in your region, changing search terms usually will not change storefront availability. Follow the message and check your account region.

Shadowrocket is primarily for iPhone and iPad. Compatibility with Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision is also listed on the same App Store product page. This guide does not specify fixed system requirements: check the App Store page for current requirements, supported devices, and eligibility to use a purchase across devices. On a new device, review its compatibility details before relying on an existing purchase. Being able to view the description does not mean the device meets installation requirements, and a website cannot perform the system’s full compatibility check.

Changing your region is not a routine troubleshooting step

If the app is temporarily unavailable in your storefront, first read the message shown and check that you are not using a different personal account by mistake. Changing your account country or region can involve account balance, subscriptions, payment details, and Family Sharing. It is not a simple page refresh. If you have a long-term need to change it, review the requirements in your Apple Account settings and proceed based on your actual circumstances. This guide does not provide accounts or complete identity or payment verification on anyone’s behalf. Repeatedly trying different regions can make it harder to identify your current account status.

Before troubleshooting, make a note of only the information you need: device model, whether the system meets the product page’s requirements, which personal account is used for Media & Purchases, the account country or region, and the exact store message. Do not record passwords, verification codes, or full payment details. This gives you a clear starting point and helps distinguish “unavailable in this storefront” from “available, but the download did not finish.” If you only need to confirm the entry point, check the App Store link on the genuine app page first; you do not need to change account settings.

Check your store account

Check your Media & Purchases sign-in

On iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name at the top, and check Media & Purchases. Then use the available options to view your account and country or region. Menu paths may change with system updates, so follow the labels on your device. Viewing account details may require system authentication; complete that process only in the system interface. Never enter your Apple Account password in a web form, chat, or guide comment. This section is only to help you identify the current store account. You do not need to send any sign-in details to this site.

The account used for iCloud syncing may differ from the one used for App Store purchases. Seeing a name at the top of Settings does not prove that it is the account that bought Shadowrocket. Open Media & Purchases and check the account actually used for the store. This is especially important if you migrated from an older device or changed your store sign-in in the past. Purchase eligibility is tied to the account that completed the transaction, not to the device name, SIM card, or an app icon on the Home Screen.

Cross-check with your purchase history

Open your App Store account page and look for your purchased apps or app list, then search for Shadowrocket. Depending on the system version, the entry may appear as “Apps,” “Purchased,” or a personal app list; use the label shown on your device. The listing can help confirm whether the current account acquired the app, but also consider hidden purchases, refunds, and Family Sharing purchases. If you remember paying but cannot find a record, first check which account is shown on your own purchase receipt rather than immediately confirming another payment.

Email receipts can help you recall transaction details, but check the sender and make sure the message is complete. Compare the app name, transaction account, and purchase, then confirm it in the App Store purchase history. Do not rely on a forwarded screenshot alone to prove that the current account owns the app, and do not send receipts containing payment details to this guide site. If you have used several of your own accounts, check records you have kept for each one. Do not repeatedly sign out of iCloud on the whole device just to test accounts; that can turn a store issue into a sync issue.

When to stop checking account settings

Once you have confirmed the current store account, country or region, and purchase history, you have a basis for checking the account. If the product page still shows a price despite a matching purchase record, check for a refund, hidden purchase, or account sync delay. Closing and reopening the App Store and waiting for account details to load is a better first step than repeatedly tapping Buy. If the details still conflict, keep the exact system message and use Apple Account or purchase support. Avoid confirming another transaction before the account history is clear.

Read account security prompts separately from app installation messages. If the system asks you to reverify payment details, accept store terms, or resolve an outstanding balance, follow the system-provided process. Such prompts do not mean there is a problem with Shadowrocket’s configuration. Purchase and download checks only make sense once the store account is working normally. Change one thing at a time—for example, check the account first and payment details next. Changing regions, switching networks, and reinstalling at once makes it difficult to tell what resolved the issue.

Verify the genuine app

Use the name to search; verify the app with three identifiers

“Little Rocket” is a Chinese nickname for Shadowrocket, but an app name or search term is not enough to confirm its identity. Search results may include apps with similar descriptions, names, or graphics, so open the product page and check the developer, official icon, and app ID. Once all three match, review the price and compatibility. Do not buy based only on search ranking, promotional text in an image, or a web page title. The site name is also not the developer name shown in the App Store.

The developer should be listed as Shadow Launch Technology Limited. The product page may show a developer link, provider details, or copyright information in different places depending on the store layout. Look for the full English name, not just a few matching words. The site’s brand name is Shadowrocket Resource Site; it provides navigation for the official guide. The App Store developer field uses the company name above. These are separate fields and do not need to have identical wording.

Check both the icon and app ID

The official icon has a rocket outlined in blue and purple on a white background, matching the official icon shown on this page. The icon is useful for a quick check, but should not be the only one: small images, search screenshots, and cached pages can make it harder to identify. The more reliable check is the app ID in the product link. Shadowrocket’s app ID is 932747118, shown in the link as id932747118. Check those digits carefully rather than relying only on the readable name in the URL. The app ID is the precise identifier here.

Official Shadowrocket app icon: rocket outlined in blue and purple on a white background

Shadowrocket
Shadow Launch Technology Limited
id932747118

The store product page used on this site is the Shadowrocket App Store product page. When you open it in a browser, the system may ask whether to switch to the App Store. Once there, check the app name and developer again to confirm that you landed on the right page. The storefront path in the link does not determine your account region; purchase eligibility still depends on your own store account. If you see a region message after opening the link, return to the previous sections and check your account. Do not ignore the system message just because the URL looks right.

What to do if the details do not match

If the name is right but the developer differs, stop before buying and recheck the entry point. If the icon looks similar but the app ID differs, do not treat it as the same app. If you cannot see all three details, scroll through the product information or check the address in a browser, then confirm them on the product page on your device. Do not replace the details shown on the current product page with information from another site. Verify the exact store listing you are about to buy, not a search engine’s cached summary.

If the App Store button says “Open,” that only means an app associated with this product page is already on the device. It does not prove that the current store account made the original purchase. Updates and restoring on a new device may still depend on the purchase account. A cloud icon usually means the store offers a way to get the app again, but the download can still depend on compatibility and account status. Treat the button as a clue, not a substitute for checking all three identifiers or proof that local subscriptions are intact.

You do not need to repeat this check before every use. It is most useful for a first purchase, unclear search results, restoring on a new device, or questions about purchase history. Once you have confirmed the correct product page, save the link using the genuine app verification guide. App Store manages updates; you do not need to look for another source in technical notes or mistake an article about a protocol for the app’s product page.

Purchase and one-time payment

Check the checkout screen before buying

Shadowrocket is a paid, closed-source commercial app available as a one-time purchase through the App Store. The US storefront reference price is $2.99; prices appear in local currency on other storefronts. The amount and transaction terms shown on the purchase confirmation screen are final. The reference price on this site explains the payment model but does not replace the system checkout. If the amount, currency, or purchasing account differs from what you expected, cancel the confirmation and check the storefront and sign-in before proceeding. Do not skip the payment details just to install the app sooner.

On the genuine product page, tap the price button and follow the device prompts to authenticate and confirm the purchase. The method depends on your system and personal settings; it may use biometrics or account verification. The app enters the normal download process only after the store transaction is complete and your account is eligible. If you cancel authentication, return to the product page and check the button. If the network drops or the page stalls, check your purchase history for a completed transaction before trying again. Payment status and download progress do not always refresh at the same time, so repeatedly confirming can make it harder to understand what happened.

App purchases and connection services are managed separately

Buying the app does not buy a connection service. A one-time purchase gives you the right to use the app; it does not include server addresses, subscription links, protocol passwords, or connection service. You need to already have your own subscription or server details before importing and configuring them in Shadowrocket. This site explains how to use details you already have; it does not provide, sell, or recommend nodes or subscriptions. Keeping these separate helps avoid the common question, “Why is there no server in Home after I paid?”

The app purchase is recorded in the store system for the relevant Apple Account. Subscription validity, server status, and access credentials are managed separately by your connection service. An expired subscription does not turn an App Store purchase into an unpurchased app. Likewise, an app that opens normally does not mean your server is still available. When a connection fails, first determine whether the issue is with getting the app or using the connection. Once the app is installed, buying it again will not fix an incorrect server address, expired subscription, or mismatched protocol settings.

Payment issues and future updates

If the system says a payment method is unavailable, billing details need updating, or a transaction is pending, check the reason through the account process provided by Apple. A declined payment does not mean the app is incompatible with your device; these are separate checks. Likewise, a completed payment does not guarantee that the download will finish immediately. Start with the earliest clear error and then check your purchase history. For charges, refunds, or billing disputes, use Apple’s purchase support process and do not submit full card details or verification codes on a guide page.

App Store manages app updates. Check your system’s automatic update settings or the app list in the store. This guide does not list fixed version numbers or release dates, so historical details are not mistaken for current information. A one-time purchase is not an additional promise about all future features, long-term compatibility, or service availability; check the product page for current support. Before buying, review device compatibility and price. Afterward, keep your transaction records and save your own subscriptions and Config. These are the key preparations for restoring on a new device and troubleshooting later.

First install on iPhone or iPad

Wait for the download to finish before configuring the app

After purchasing or getting the app again through the App Store, wait for the download to finish. If the icon on the Home Screen still shows a waiting state or progress, the app is still downloading; there is no need to change Shadowrocket rules yet. Check available device storage, whether the network can reach the store, and whether the system is asking you to confirm your account. For system requirements, refer to the App Store page. If it says the device is incompatible, check the device’s system version against the product’s compatibility details rather than treating this as a failed subscription import.

Use the same genuine product page on iPhone and iPad. If your iPad is signed in with the purchasing account, look for Shadowrocket in your purchased apps first, then open its product page. Your account eligibility, device compatibility, and the current button state determine what to do next. For landscape use and other iPad-specific details, see Using Shadowrocket on iPad. Layout differences do not change how to verify the genuine app, and they do not mean server details saved on another device will appear automatically.

VPN configuration prompt on first connection

The first time you enable a connection after opening the app, you will usually see a system prompt to add a VPN configuration. This allows Shadowrocket to create the relevant system network configuration; approve it in the system dialog. It is not another app purchase or proof that a subscription is valid. Check which app the prompt refers to and authorize it only if you choose to. If you cancel, you can try connecting again later. You do not need to buy the app again or delete all your personal configurations just because you canceled once.

System network configuration and account purchase history are separate states. Allowing a VPN configuration means the system accepted the connection settings; actual connectivity also depends on the server details you imported, the current network, certificates, and routing settings. Conversely, owning the app does not automatically grant system permission. If the device is managed by an organization or restricted by the system, device management rules may control these permissions. When you see a clear restriction, check the device management requirements rather than treating it as a failed app purchase.

Layout differences and protecting your data

On iPad, landscape orientation, Split View, and the larger display may change how lists and details are arranged. When following a tutorial, look for interface labels such as Home, Config, and Settings rather than relying on a button’s position on the left or right. If Home has no entries, first check whether you imported your details on this device. Do not assume the iPad’s local data is complete just because the same setup works on your iPhone. A layout difference is a navigation issue; missing entries are a data preparation issue. Handle them separately.

Subscription links may contain access credentials, and server settings may include passwords or keys. Before importing, make sure the details come from your own provider or a server you manage. Do not paste a live link into a public Q&A, screenshot, or shared log. If an import fails, note the error type and field names, then describe the issue with credentials removed. Examples on this site explain formats only; they are not real connection details. Do not include purchase receipts and subscription credentials together in troubleshooting reports shared with others.

Your Getting the App tasks are complete once installation and authorization are done. Continue with the Getting Started tutorial to import your details, choose Global Routing, enable the connection, and verify it. If you have questions about “Add VPN Configuration,” see Understanding the system VPN configuration prompt to learn how the system configuration relates to app settings. Remove and recreate a configuration layer only after identifying which layer is actually having trouble; reinstalling is not a substitute for diagnosis.

New device and restore purchases

Restore purchase eligibility first, then local data

When moving to a new device, handle two things separately: have the new device recognize the app purchase, and restore the personal configuration needed to use the app. The first depends on the App Store purchasing account and its history. The second depends on data you have saved and the migration method. Restoring the app icon to the Home Screen does not mean the download is finished. Successfully downloading Shadowrocket again does not mean your subscriptions, servers, and Config have all been restored. Checking these two goals separately avoids mistaking a normal redownload for a data sync failure.

On your new iPhone or iPad, confirm that Media & Purchases is signed in with the personal account used to buy the app. Open your App Store app list, search for Shadowrocket, and verify the genuine app’s three identifiers before using the redownload option. You generally should not need to pay again for an existing purchase that remains valid on the same account, but follow the eligibility shown by the store. If the page shows a price again, stop before confirming and check your purchase history, account, refund status, and hidden purchases. Do not assume you must buy it again just because it is not installed on the new device.

If the old purchase record is missing, check these items one by one

First, confirm whether you bought the app with your own account or got access through a family purchase; that determines which list to check. If you have a transaction receipt, compare the app name and account, then check that account’s store history. Hidden purchases may not appear in the regular app list, so check the purchase management options in your account. A refund or changed transaction status can also affect eligibility; an old receipt alone does not prove that the same eligibility still applies. Keep the exact system message and do not rely on a vague memory of having installed the app before.

If your account country or region has changed, current storefront availability may affect redownloading some content. First check your account and storefront as described in the previous sections, then determine whether the purchase record provides a download option on this device. Do not keep switching settings just to find an old icon, and do not assume a missing item in the purchased list means the record is permanently lost. If the purchase account is clear but the record and button still conflict, contact Apple through its account and purchase support process.

Before deleting the app

If the old device is still available, first make sure you have saved a valid subscription source, server settings, and any configuration files you need. Check that your export or backup includes enough information to restore them on the new device. A configuration file alone may not include all server credentials; a subscription alone may not include your custom rules and preferences. Review what the backup actually covers instead of just checking that a file exists. Keep sensitive details somewhere you trust and can control access to.

The same principle applies to reinstalling. Deleting the app may affect local data, so do not use reinstallation as your first response to a connection problem before confirming your backup. If only the system VPN configuration is wrong, check that layer using the relevant guide. If a subscription update alone failed, check the link and network first. After restoring on a new device, verify the server entries, Config, Global Routing, and an actual connection separately before deciding whether to clean up the old device. For the basic steps, see Restore purchases; for less common cases, see Troubleshooting.

Family Sharing eligibility

Check the current product page details first

Whether Family Sharing applies to a purchase depends on the support details on the App Store product page and your Apple Account family settings. Do not assume that a one-time purchase automatically lets every family member get the app. Also, do not confuse using the same purchasing account on two of your own devices with a family purchase. The first uses one account’s purchase across devices; the second grants eligible access to different members through Family Sharing. The steps and restrictions are not identical.

Open the genuine product page and check for current Family Sharing details, then check your family group and purchase sharing settings in the system’s family settings. Even if the product supports a form of family access, your family group and account settings must still meet Apple’s current requirements. Check the organizer, payment arrangements, and member eligibility in the system; do not infer them from this guide. If a device shows a general unavailable message, check the specific requirements rather than assuming access is available just because another family member has installed the app.

Find family purchases using each person’s own account

If the purchase is eligible, each member should use their own personal account to open the App Store’s family purchases section, find the purchaser’s apps, then search for Shadowrocket and verify the product. The location and label of the family purchases list may vary by system version; follow the current account interface. Changing the sign-in account is not a required step for Family Sharing. The feature manages eligible purchases while each member uses their own personal account. Each account holder should keep their password and verification codes private.

If the app is missing from the family list, first make sure you selected the person who actually purchased it, not someone who merely installed the app. Then check whether purchase sharing is enabled, whether the purchase is hidden, and whether the product is still eligible for sharing. A family member’s purchased list does not show every app ever used by the whole family; what appears can depend on how the app was obtained. After a member joins or leaves, or family settings change, follow what the system shows now. Being able to open the app in the past does not guarantee that every future action will work the same way.

Sharing an app purchase does not share connection settings

Even if a family member is eligible to get Shadowrocket through Family Sharing, that grants access to the app only. It does not automatically provide another member’s subscription link, server credentials, or Config. Each person should use connection details they already have permission to use and import them on their own device. Family app purchase settings also do not change a connection service’s device limit, validity period, or terms. Check the actual terms for where connection details can be used; do not infer them from how the app was purchased.

Likewise, seeing a cloud or download button in the family purchases section does not mean the new device already has VPN permission configured. After installation, check local entries and system authorization. If one family member is helping another, the device owner should read system confirmations and complete authentication, especially for payment, account details, and network configuration. Helping locate an option does not require the other person’s password or private subscription. Keep symptoms and field names in troubleshooting notes, but remove anything that could provide access to an account or service.

For family payments, distinguish who purchased the app from how the family payment arrangement was handled. Apple’s account system determines purchase ownership, payment confirmation, and member eligibility; a payment card alone cannot show which member owns a purchase. If a purchase request is awaiting approval, payment verification is incomplete, or family settings do not match, resolve that system process first and then check whether the app can be obtained. This site does not approve purchases for family organizers or collect payment verification details from members.

If the product page and family settings meet the requirements but a member still cannot get the app, check the account, list used, hidden status, current region, and device compatibility in that order. Record the result of each step. When contacting purchase support, provide the non-sensitive error text and say when it occurred. Do not delete an app that is working just to get around a family list issue. Confirm the restore path and back up personal settings first, then decide whether reinstalling is necessary. This avoids turning a purchase issue into lost local data.

Troubleshoot search and download issues

Identify the stage of the problem before reinstalling

First identify whether the issue occurs during search, opening the product page, payment confirmation, download progress, first launch, or connection. If search returns nothing, open the verified product page. If the page says the app is unavailable in your region, check the storefront. If payment verification fails, check the account and billing details. If the icon is waiting to download, check the network, storage, and store status. If the app opens but cannot connect, you are past the app access stage. This classification keeps unrelated problems separate and avoids changes that are not supported by what you see.

Search for Shadowrocket by its English name and check whether an unsuitable device filter or content restriction is enabled. If it still does not appear, open the product page from the genuine app verification page and read the store’s exact message. If the product page opens, search itself is no longer the main obstacle. If a system content restriction or management policy blocks the app, check the relevant device settings and requirements. Do not conclude that the app is unavailable just because search is empty, and do not treat an old description in an online article as the current storefront status.

Check these items one at a time if the download stalls

First, check whether other store content is also slow to load. Then check that your current network has completed any required sign-in, that the device has enough free storage, and whether the account needs attention. After saving your current state, you can compare with another network you can use normally, but do not change the account region at the same time. If the system offers a pause or resume option, try it from the current screen. Repeatedly tapping the icon without reading the message usually does not help distinguish a queue, network interruption, or account verification issue.

If payment may have gone through, check purchase history before trying again. If the app is waiting to download rather than awaiting payment confirmation, focus on the download process; there is no need to look for the price button again. If storage is low, follow the system’s storage recommendations and keep a backup of your personal details. The app’s displayed size alone does not tell you whether the available space is sufficient. If several App Store actions are failing, check again later or use Apple’s system support options to check the status. Do not attribute a temporary store issue to Shadowrocket configuration.

After a successful download, follow the tutorial for usage issues

Once Home opens, troubleshoot using connection details you already have. Under Global Routing, Config, Proxy, and Direct refer to configuration, proxy, and direct modes. The path taken by a request depends on the current selection and configuration. A successful subscription update, a server test response, and a working request to the destination are different results and do not prove one another. A line in a rules file does not prove that it is the active configuration; check the selection in Config and verify it with an actual request.

[Rule]
DOMAIN-SUFFIX,example.com,PROXY
GEOIP,CN,DIRECT
FINAL,PROXY

This real syntax illustrates the distinction between configuration and purchase; it is not connection data. Rules are matched in order: the first two lines describe a domain suffix and a geographic IP condition, while the last handles requests not matched by the earlier rules. It is not a complete connection setup and contains no usable server. Pasting it into a file cannot replace importing a subscription, selecting a server, or granting system permission. Continue with the Getting Started tutorial, or see Data traffic statistics to understand readings and actual request paths.

When keeping troubleshooting notes, record the stage where the issue occurred, device type, store region, whether a purchase record exists, the exact error, and the steps already tried. Before sharing, remove account details, private order information, subscription credentials, and server passwords. Test one possibility at a time. Once the issue is resolved, note which step worked and stop making changes. For more common cases, see Troubleshooting. The main takeaway here is to check App Store eligibility first, then troubleshoot local details and connectivity. Reinstalling should not replace every other check.
